Production Manager

Job Description

To initiate and establish a volumetric modular manufacturing factory, Responsible for the production facilities and teams building the components for TM, ensuring the work is completed safely, delivering on time, to budget, right first time in accordance with ISO management systems.

The role requires an energetic and positive leader, building the culture and establishing it as the company grows.

Working across the factory with a mixed skill workforce, organisation, managing logistics, planning and clear communication are essential.

Requirements

Production Planning

  • Establish production programmes, deliver and monitor against them, provide 3-week look forward for team and one week, daily detailed plan for factory floors
  • Establish and manage logistics and storage plans for goods in and out of factory, ensuring the factory operates with efficiency and operatives are clearly briefed
  • Organise deliveries to site, liaising with site team on logistics there, any special requirements, ensuring they arrive on time
  • Undertake regular reviews of production processes, engaging with the operatives, to ensure the continuous improvement, striving to increase productivity and decrease cost
  • Prepare business cases for new equipment or changes to processes as required

QHSE

  • Responsible for managing the Health, Safety & Environment within the factory in accordance with the ISO9001 processes including;
  • Risk assessments and method statements
  • Management of PPE & safety equipment
  • Near miss and accident process
  • Induction and training
  • Ensure quality processes are followed, including recording of checks, management of NCRs and preparation of quality record for completed homes
  • Work with team to reduce environmental impact of the company

Team

  • Line management of factory supervisors
  • Ensure all production staff have an appropriate development plan and are making progress against it, including taking part in regular reviews to ensure a consistent standard across the production workforce
  • Oversee training to new operatives to guide them through the skill competency matrix and enable them to carry out works safely and to the correct standard.
  • Manage workforce demand. Identify additional staff requirements in advance and get involved in recruitment process.
  • Support factory supervisors as required in the management of production operatives including development and disciplinary processes

Technical

  • Responsible for ensuring the manufacturing drawings and details are to standard and correct prior to issuing to production teams
  • Work with technical team to ensure any errors or omissions are corrected and to develop new details as required

Material Management

  • Identify all material requirements, place or ensure orders are placed and call offs managed for all materials required in production facilities
  • Establish and manage standard stock materials within the factory including identifying requirements & replenishment

Manage receipt, storage and usage of materials including recoding usage on projects and identifying any non-conformances.

Special Requirements

Essential:

  • Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
  • Production Manager with a can do/collaborative attitude
  • Strong Planning skills
  • Able to read technical drawings within the construction industry
  • Flexible / Positive / Strong Leader / Highly Organised
  • Good IT Skills including MS Projects

Desirable:

  • 5+ Years as a Production Manager in an Offsite / MMC business
  • Timber Frame / Light Gauge Steel Frame Residential Homes

Job Description

Buyer required to create national and regional supply chain relationships identified through Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) drivers ensuring a Just in Time (JIT) programme of delivery to meet a 24-hour working operation for both in house and on-site activities.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and abstract technical information from drawings and specifications to procure materials and services.
  • Liaising with key company employees to determine their product and service needs.
  • Raising thorough material order inquiries for tender and material purchases.
  • Collate quotes, analyze & negotiate with suppliers for fixed annual pricing in order to maximize company returns.
  • Monitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
  • Input schedules and orders onto inventory and purchasing software.
  • Produce and issue schedule purchase orders in line with construction programming.
  • Identify and research potential new suppliers.
  • Research new products and services to meet the company’s goals.
  • Assess and produce reports on total project purchases against set budgets.
  • Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods while maintaining stock levels.

Special Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience within construction procurement is essential
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction, engineering & civil processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure, whilst ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Experience with Word and Excel software
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced Commercial environment

Desirable:

  • Be educated to degree level
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or willing to work towards (CIPS)

Construction Manager

Job Description

To take full ownership of on-site activities from site start to handover. Managing in-house and external labour resources and sub contractors. Ensuring compliance with HSE and industry legislation at all times. Co-ordinate and manage compliance with RAMS and scope of works.

Requirements

  • Ensure compliance with BOPAS / NHBC / ISO14001 / ISO9001 / ISO45001 / TM HSE Policy
  • Manage and co-ordinate all site personnel including internal and external teams
  • Ensure sub contractor outputs and performance comply with scope of works
  • Update commercial and project managers with perceived or known risk to commercial or contractual terms
  • Maintain project diary, documents and records – mitigating risk and maintaining a log of all progress and variations alongside the Commercial and Project Manager
  • Produce project RAMS for each site and manage adherence by internal and external teams
  • Appoint site management personnel as necessary, delegating where appropriate to ensure coverage of multiple projects
  • Attend site progress meetings alongside the Project Manager
  • Provide detailed feedback on sub contractor performance to maintain a preferred contractor list
  • Liaise between Production Manager and site to ensure timely delivery and installation of modules
  • Liaise with internal pre-construction teams to ensure appropriate specification of craneage, transport and specialist requirements prior to site start
  • Attend pre-start site visits to assess risk and logistical requirements

Special Requirements

Essential:

  • Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
  • SMSTS, CSCS Manager Card, First Aid
  • A proven track record in delivering MMC projects
  • Strong personnel management skills
  • Up to date knowledge of health and safety legislation and building regulations
  • Competent in understanding technical drawings
  • Flexible le to travel for projects as required and lodge-away where necessary
  • A can do / collaborative attitude

Desirable:

  • Minimum of HNC/HND in a construction/engineering related discipline
  • CPCS Appointed Person for Lifting
  • Minimum NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management
  • Experience with a BOPAS product
  • Experience of NHBC and relevant ISO standards
